Position Summary
The Undergraduate Physics Teaching Support Assistant (UGTA) plays a vital role in enhancing the educational experience by collaborating with faculty during lectures, participating in organizational meetings, and facilitating recitation sessions.
Key Responsibilities
- 60% Collaborate with the instructor during in-person lectures.
- 5% Participate in weekly organizational meetings.
- 5% Conduct afternoon or evening recitation sessions.
- 25% Provide office hours and group tutoring sessions.
- 5% Coordinate efforts with fellow UGTAs and graders.
Required Qualifications
- Must have successfully completed the course for which you are applying or an equivalent course, maintaining good academic standing.
- Availability to attend all lecture sessions in person is mandatory.
- During the appointment semester, the student must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in teaching or tutoring.
- Academic major in Astronomy, Physics, or Engineering Physics.
