Job Overview:

Position: Senior Laboratory Applications Specialist

Company: Net2Source Inc.

Duration: 12 months

Compensation: $42/hr. on W2 without benefits

Role Summary:

The Senior Laboratory Applications Specialist, with a strong foundation in Medical Technology, will be engaged in the R&D System Verification Labs focusing on manual smear analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct manual smear readings to meet project specifications over designated timeframes.
  • Perform system verification testing, including customer workflows, quality control, calibration, and whole blood specimen analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with established requirements and specifications.
  • Collaborate with software and engineering teams to troubleshoot product performance challenges.
  • Utilize statistical methods to analyze data, interpret technical findings, and document issues promptly.
  • Draft and maintain accurate documentation of test procedures and results in accordance with departmental standards.
  • Prepare presentations and actively participate in design review sessions.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and policies within the laboratory environment.

Qualifications:

Candidates should possess a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in a relevant field with a minimum of 5 years of experience, or a Master of Science (M.S.) degree with at least 3 years of experience. Certification as a Medical Technologist (ASCP/AMT preferred) is required. Relevant experience should include:

  • Comprehensive understanding of laboratory workflows.
  • Experience in hematology, including CBC, 5-part differential, and result review.
  • Proficiency in executing and reviewing decision rules with reflex and rerun test orders.
  • Familiarity with LIS test order processing and result release.
  • Basic knowledge of laboratory statistics.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word); familiarity with data analysis tools such as JMP is advantageous.
  • Strong technical writing and presentation capabilities, along with excellent communication skills.
  • A collaborative mindset for effective teamwork.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience with Beckman Coulter DxH Hematology instrumentation.
  • Experience with Remisol middleware and LIS setup and troubleshooting.
