Job Summary:

The Matian Firm, APC is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join our team in the Personal Injury department. As an Associate Attorney, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of personal injury cases, including plaintiff's side litigation and school/government liability cases.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of various types of personal injury matters in litigation
  • Prepare and draft legal documents on behalf of clients, including filing complaints
  • Draft meet and confer letters to opposing counsel regarding discovery disputes
  • Prepare clients for depositions and other applicable hearings
  • Take and defend depositions throughout the course of litigation
  • Prepare and respond to motions, including dispositive motions
  • Attend court appearances
  • Negotiate settlements for personal injury cases
  • Direct and support investigation on all assigned litigation matters

Requirements:

  • 1-2 years of Personal Injury Law experience
  • Strong background in Personal Injury Litigation, including pre-litigation case management and discovery
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred, but not required
  • Juris Doctor degree and current good standing with CA State bar is required.
  • Workers Compensation experience is a plus
  • Written Discovery skills
  • Conducting Depositions
