About the Role

Cedarhurst Senior Living is seeking a dedicated and service-minded individual to join our team as a Dining Server at our Cedarhurst of St. Charles community. As a Dining Server, you will have the opportunity to positively impact the lives of our residents daily by providing a top-notch dining experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support all catering, room service, special party needs, and marketing functions.
  • Take drink and food orders, serve residents and guests in a professional and efficient manner.
  • Maintain a clean work area by assisting with washing all pots, pans, and cooking utensils used to prepare a meal.
  • Clear, sanitize, and set tables, remove garbage from the kitchen, and clean trash containers.
  • Assist in cleaning work areas, dining room floor, dining room tables, and dining room chairs after each meal and occasionally after special events.
  • Possess a working knowledge of individual assignments and resident dining needs.
  • Assist in controlling food costs, when possible.
  • Read and follow recipe books, as well as read labels.
  • Safely operate and clean all kitchen equipment and cooking utensils.
  • Understand dining menus and effectively communicate information to residents.
  • Ensure table settings meet Cedarhurst's dining standards.
  • Remain current and up to date with all food safety licensing requirements for FDA, state, county, and local authorities.
  • Maintain safety standards as outlined by Cedarhurst guidelines for infection control.
  • Utilize basic mathematical concepts to practical situations.
  • Ensure effective communication with community staff and residents' families concerning residents' care.
  • Work well with others and take direction from management, as well as take initiative with conflict intervention and resolution.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 0-2 years of previous experience preferred.
  • Applicable state/county licensure preferred.
  • CPR or BLS certification preferred.
