In the United States, over 100 million tons of food are wasted each year, with more than half ending up in landfills or incinerators. Divert is actively addressing these challenges, making substantial strides towards eliminating food waste through our unique solutions, which include transforming wasted food into renewable energy and supporting those in need.

We collaborate with leading retailers in the industry, such as Ahold Delhaize, Albertsons, CVS, Kroger, and Target, among others, servicing nearly 5,400 retail locations across the country. Our company provides advanced technology, logistics, and anaerobic digestion facilities to assist retailers in achieving their sustainability objectives. Annually, we process over 232,000 tons of wasted food and have facilitated the donation of more than 10 million pounds of food to those in need through partnerships with major food retailers and local nonprofits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute all necessary CDL Class A driving functions for the organization.
  • Adhere to all DOT and FMCSA regulations, as well as internal policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a daily truck log using an Electronic Logging Device (ELD) to document mileage and activities.
  • Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and report any issues to management.
  • Perform essential physical tasks required of a truck driver, ensuring safe transport of cargo.
  • Install tire chains as required based on weather conditions and regulations.
  • Manage trailer swaps efficiently to optimize operational workflows.
  • Engage in proactive communication with Divert Logistics and Operations teams to ensure seamless operations.
  • Handle all necessary paperwork accurately for outgoing and incoming shipments.
  • Fuel vehicles as needed using the company-provided Fuel Card, ensuring compliance with reimbursement protocols.
  • Report any mechanical failures or equipment issues immediately.
  • Plan and execute routes to maximize efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Class A CDL is mandatory.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a driving role is required.
  • Experience with dump trucks, including end dumps and side dumps, is preferred.
  • Experience with dry van and tanker trailers is highly desirable.
  • Endorsements for double trailers are required.
  • Flexibility to perform multiple routes based on business needs.
  • Willingness to take on additional responsibilities beyond driving, such as operating a forklift.
  • Comfortable with slip seating arrangements.
