**The Role:

We are seeking a Laboratory Assistant II to join our team at AdventHealth Waterman. As a Laboratory Assistant II, you will perform various laboratory support procedures in assigned areas, including phlebotomy and specimen processing. You will work with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to provide excellent care and service.

**Responsibilities:**

  • Collects patient, physician, and test order information to create patient accounts.
  • Performs blood specimen collection, general equipment maintenance, and receives and processes patient specimens.
  • Aliquots different sample types, loads preanalytical instruments, and delivers them to the testing department.
  • Cytopreparatory staining, accessioning of surgical cases, receiving and setting up cultures, and performing periodic preventive instrument maintenance.
  • Cleaning and disinfection of selected or assigned laboratory equipment and spaces, inventory control, and supply stocking.

**Requirements:**

  • High School degree or equivalent.
  • Six months of relevant healthcare experience.
  • Completion of a phlebotomy training program (preferred).

**Estimated Salary:** $45,000 - $60,000 per year.
