Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dependable Plant Operator to join our team at Heidelberg Materials US, Inc. in our nightshift Monroe County Aggregate facility. As a Plant Operator, you will be responsible for operating the crusher through PLC automation, monitoring conveyor belts and related equipment, and ensuring the efficient and safe workflow from quarry to crusher.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and program the automated crushing and screening equipment for the quarry
  • Monitor gauges and equipment to maintain proper flow of material on belts, crushers, and screens
  • Maintain strong communications with plant employees to ensure efficient and safe workflow
  • Identify and select material to produce quality aggregate material per job specifications
  • Communicate with quality control personnel and make adjustments to material blends
  • Perform routine maintenance on conveyor belts and crushing equipment
  • Operate haul truck, skid steer, or other heavy machinery
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, and company policies and procedures
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2 years prior experience in the aggregate industry, preferably in aggregate plant operation and maintenance
  • Highly dependable and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Prior experience operating mobile equipment and machinery
Physical Requirements

The successful candidate will be able to:

  • Sit, stand, walk, push, pull, twist, climb, balance, bend, kneel, reach, grasp, squat, and perform repetitive motions
  • Work extended periods of time in the same position and perform duties in all climates
  • Lift and carry up to 75 lbs. and work in confined spaces
