Radiation Therapist

We are seeking a skilled Radiation Therapist to join our team at PeaceHealth St. John Medical Center in Longview, Washington. As a Radiation Therapist, you will play a critical role in the accurate treatment, simulation, and dosimetry of patients undergoing ionizing radiation therapy.

• Administer prescribed doses of radiation to specific body parts using Linear Accelerator Equipment according to established practices and standards.
• Perform dosimetric calculations under the supervision of a physicist or dosimetrist, using either manual or computerized dose calculations.
• Assist with Brachytherapy procedures and warm up treatment machines/simulator, checking all safety and operational procedures.
• Verify dose through barometer and thermometer measurements and report any discrepancies to the physicist.
• Follow Principles of Radiation Protection for patient, self, and others, adhering to ALARA and other radiation safety requirements.
• Position patients utilizing correct patient immobilization devices with accuracy according to simulation/prescription.
• Adhere to Radiation Therapist Code of Ethics and may train & supervise students or subordinate Radiation Therapists.

• Completion of an accredited Radiation Therapy program approved by ARRT (AAS).
• Current American Registry of Radiograph Technology (ARRT) – Radiation Therapy Certification.
• WA State Radiologic Technologist license.
• Current BLS card.
