Nurse Practitioner

The Edward M. Kennedy Community Health Center is seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner to provide comprehensive primary care to patients in both the school-based health center (SBHC) setting and outpatient primary care. As a key member of the healthcare team, you will work collaboratively with other team members to deliver high-quality patient care, follow evidence-based approaches, and engage in health center projects and quality improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:- Deliver direct primary care, including preventative services, acute care, and management of chronic illness to public school students and assigned pediatric and adult patients.
- Work closely with a multidisciplinary clinical and educational team to provide patient care and instruct and assist other team members in management of patient care.
- Support a work environment that is responsible and sensitive to the needs of a diverse staff and clients, contributing to the professional team and supporting the Health Center's Mission Statement.
- Follow established practice standards and current evidence-based clinical practices and guidelines.
- Adhere to established protocols, respond to medical emergencies within the facility assigned, and consult with physician partners and refer patients with more complex/dynamic problems to subspecialty care, as appropriate.
- Maintain and update Electronic Health Records (EHR) in a systematic format and complete required documentation within the specified amount of time expected by the Clinical Director.
- Ensure patient records are kept confidential consistent with Health Center policies and procedures, Joint Commission, and HIPAA standards, and monitor HIPAA compliance within the work environment.
- Attend trainings, weekly Provider and Team meetings, and collaborate on practice, administrative, and quality improvement projects, as assigned by Clinical Director.
- Provide clinical supervision and mentoring to Nurse Practitioner, Medical, and Physician Assistant students by mutual agreement with the Clinical Director.
- May work a fluctuating schedule, including days, evenings, weekend shifts, and holidays according to schedule approved by Clinical Director.
- 2 years of experience as a Family Nurse Practitioner in a Primary Care or Related Environment.
- Master's Degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
- Active, Unrestricted Nurse Practitioner License in Massachusetts.
- Ability to see ALL ages (newborns, toddlers, children, adolescents, adults, geriatrics).
- The Health Center requires all employees to have the most recent COVID19 Booster and the yearly Flu Vaccine.
- $105,000-$115,000/yr for full time.
- Qualifies for the HRSA Loan Repayment Program.
