Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Care and Support: Assist dentists in gaining patient commitment to optimal treatment, utilizing x-ray time to promote the dentist's expertise, and educating patients on intra-oral pictures.
  • Operatory Management: Maintain a clean, sterile, and welcoming environment, prepare patients for treatment, and assist doctors in providing efficient and quality dental care.
  • Administrative Tasks: Obtain dental history and records from patients, complete x-rays and intra-oral pictures, and record patient charting and doctor notes.
  • Instrument Preparation: Prepare tray setups for dental procedures, present instruments and materials to dentists, and sterilize and disinfect equipment and operatories.
  • Patient Escort and Communication: Escort patients to/from the front desk, introduce them to the Continuing Care Clerk, and maintain adequate supply levels in each operatory.
Requirements
  • Education and Certifications: Equivalent to high school diploma or GED, specified training courses for certification, licensure, or registration, and certificates, licenses, and registrations as mandated by applicable state.
  • Physical Demands: Regularly required to use hands, reach, talk, hear, and smell; frequently required to stand, walk, and sit; occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch; and frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
