Job Summary

The Microbiology Laboratory Supervisor is a key member of the UF Health Laboratories team, responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Microbiology Laboratory. This role requires a highly skilled individual with expertise in all clinical areas related to laboratory results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Department Operations: Manage the day-to-day activities of the Microbiology Laboratory, ensuring efficient and effective operations.
  • Quality Control and Assurance: Lead quality control and quality assurance testing, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and maintaining high standards of quality.
  • Staff Management: Manage employees in hiring, coaching, or termination, with limited supervision from leadership.
  • Instrument Maintenance: Manage instrument maintenance and troubleshooting practices, ensuring optimal performance and minimizing downtime.
  • Training and Competency: Oversee training and competency evaluations, ensuring staff are equipped to perform their duties effectively.
  • Special Projects: Assist the Laboratory management with special projects as assigned.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree
  • Licensure/Certification/Registration: State of Florida Laboratory Personnel (TN) license in all areas, State of Florida Supervisor (SU) license - Preferred
  • Experience: 5 Years of Laboratory Experience
