Speech Language Pathologist Opportunity in Oakland

We are seeking a skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our team at a skilled nursing facility in Oakland, California. This is a part-time position, planned for 13 weeks with the possibility of extension.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations and develop tailored treatment plans for patients with speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders.
  • Provide direct therapy services in a skilled nursing facility setting, collaborating with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed, maintaining accurate documentation in compliance with regulatory standards and reimbursement requirements.
  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers on communication and swallowing strategies and home exercises, promoting independence and quality of life.
  • Stay updated on advances in medical speech-language pathology through continuing education and professional development, ensuring the highest level of expertise.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Current state license or certification in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), or eligibility for CCC.
  • Experience working within a medical setting, preferably in a skilled nursing facility or similar environment.
