As a Practical Tech with OrthoArizona, you'll have the opportunity to:
  • Ensure that medical imaging equipment is functioning properly and maintain radiology supplies.
  • Explain procedures to patients, addressing any questions or concerns they may have.
  • Complete X-Ray orders and protect patients from unnecessary radiation exposure by utilizing shielding equipment.
  • Document patient care services and import outside imaging to our office PACS system.
  • Produce CDs of office images for patients and providers.
  • Scan documents into our electronic medical record system.
  • Prepare patients for radiologic procedures.
  • Take X-rays following established procedures for patient care and safety.
  • Check in outside imaging and maintain accurate QC logs and service records.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Knowledge of radiology equipment and anatomy.
  • Understanding of safety hazards common to radiology.
  • Working knowledge of computer programs and electronic medical record software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to understand and perform training on electronic medical record software.
  • Continuing education on electronic medical record software updates.
  • Adherence to Standard Operating Procedures.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Completion of an approved American College of Radiology Limited Scope Radiologic Technologist Program.
  • Certificate of Limited Scope of Medical Imaging Modality by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology.
  • Arizona State license of Limited Scope Medical Radiologic Technologist Board of Examiners.
  • Maintain CPR certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 1-2 years of experience in radiology, preferably in a busy orthopedic practice or hospital.
