Job Summary:

The Pathways and DegreeWorks Specialist will play a crucial role in developing and implementing the integration of the Pathways advising tools into the Ellucian DegreeWorks program at La Sierra University. This position will involve updating Banner base course data, creating sample templates for advisors and faculty to develop complete pathways that will populate in DegreeWorks, and developing two-year transfer pathways designed to allow Community College students to seamlessly transfer to La Sierra University.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with the Registrar's office and grant staff to update Banner course database to current course offerings.
  • Lead the integration of the Pathways development tools into the DegreeWorks system.
  • Develop two-year transfer pathways to support Community College students transfer.
  • Collaborate with faculty and academic advisors to ensure pathways-based advising implementation.
  • Develop seminars and workshops to train academic advisors and faculty on the use of the DegreeWorks system.
  • Collect and organize data to write quarterly reports for the Title V grant.
  • Maintain project performance timeline.
Requirements:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field and two years of experience as a DegreeWorks administrator preferred.
  • Experience working in student academic counseling and/or programs for low-income or Hispanic students preferred.
  • Must have experience assisting a multicultural population, experience in higher education, especially related to issues of student persistence and completion, transfer and articulation, low income, first-generation and other underserved college populations.
  • Experience in developing and maintaining effective working relationships, experience with La Sierra University's policies and procedures.
Language Ability:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

Math Ability:

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.

Reasoning Ability:

Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills, including verbal and written, active listening, critical thinking and persuasiveness with the ability to clearly communicate in a professional manner.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google, Banner, Jaggaer and project management software.

Annual Salary Wage Range:
