Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Interventional Technologist to join our team at UPMC. As a key member of our radiology department, you will be responsible for administering contrast, positioning patients, and operating radiographic equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Administer contrast agents according to assigned protocols under the direction of the proceduralist.
  • Demonstrate proper positioning and radiographic techniques for interventional procedures.
  • Identify patients using two identifiers and utilize universal protocol during procedures.
  • Review patient history, assess physician orders, and apply departmental protocols for optimal results.
  • Document patient history in electronic records as required.
  • Foster aseptic technique and patient safety during procedures.
  • Communicate instructions to patients and explain procedures to alleviate fears.
  • Ensure exams are properly coded, tracked, and charged through RIS and ISITE systems.
  • Interact with patients and coworkers, displaying a high level of caring, listening, and respect.

Requirements

Graduate of an ARRT-approved school of Radiologic Technology or an accredited program in invasive cardiovascular technology.

CPR certification based on AHA standards within 30 days of hire.

ARRT Vascular Interventional certification within 18 months of hire/transfer.

Act 34 clearance.
