The County of Santa Barbara, CA is seeking a highly skilled Building Maintenance Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of our buildings and facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise a team of maintenance staff and contract workers to ensure that all maintenance and repair work is completed in a timely and efficient manner.
- Conduct regular inspections of facilities to identify potential maintenance issues and develop plans to address them.
- Develop and implement maintenance schedules and budgets to ensure that all facilities are properly maintained.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure that maintenance and repair work is coordinated and completed in a timely manner.
- Train and develop maintenance staff to ensure that they have the skills and knowledge needed to perform their jobs effectively.
- Three years of journey-level experience in construction and/or maintenance work, including one year of experience in a specialty building trade (carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, etc.) and as a leadworker or supervisor.
- A combination of training, education, and experience that is equivalent to the employment standard listed above and that provides the required knowledge and abilities.
- Experience working with contractors on projects with specific deadlines.
- Experience supervising staff.
- Ability to problem solve and meet tight deadlines.
- Knowledge in computer usage; including MS Office Programs and Internet.
- Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills.
- Experience managing budgets.
- Honesty, dependability, and trustworthiness.
- Good judgment under pressure.
The work schedule for this position will depend upon the needs of the department, which may include working on the weekends, holidays, off hours, and on-call shifts.
