Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement secure network architectures for our clients
  • Ensure uninterrupted network connectivity to customers and sites by planning and executing the installation of new capabilities
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot network connectivity and infrastructure on enterprise managed networks
  • Support the establishment and maintenance of various networks across the enterprise environment
  • Run network protocols, network engineering techniques, and architectures in support of client requirements
  • Work directly with government and contractor personnel to receive engineering oversight
  • Analyze site survey reports to ensure accurate network engineering planning
  • Support the procurement of network device hardware and software and oversee their installation and integration into the enterprise
  • Set up, configure, and support internal and external networks, including proficiency with network performance monitoring tools
  • Identify and analyze systems requirements
  • Develop and maintain system applications and security
  • Develop and maintain network configurations
  • Troubleshoot network performance issues
  • Provide user support and guidance
  • Recommend and implement upgrades, patches, new applications, and new equipment
  • Develop and maintain a disaster recovery plan
  • Ensure proper documentation, coordination, and maintenance of multiple systems
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or other related field and 5 years relevant experience OR High School diploma and 11 years experience
  • At least three (3) years of experience with the responsibilities listed above
  • Experience with Department of Defense (DoD) Security Technical Implementation Guidelines
  • Experience in installing and troubleshooting WAN and LAN network equipment for node installations
  • Experience in implementing and integrating cross domain solutions at both the Secret and TS levels
  • Cybersecurity Workforce Framework (CSWF) requirements with current baseline and Computing Environment/Operating System (CE/OS) certifications
  • Possess the necessary training, qualifications, and experience for the IAT-II level at a minimum in accordance with SECNAV M and DoD 8140/8570
  • Knowledge of network standards, protocols, security, and applications; capabilities and applications of network equipment including hubs, routers, switches, bridges, firewalls, servers, transmission media, and related hardware
  • Knowledge of Cisco Internetworking capabilities including IP addressing, switching, and routing, and a thorough understanding of the Cisco IOS platform
  • Ability to effectively use and implement modern network security, tools, and technologies including firewalls, VRFs, 802.1x, and port security
  • Ability to lead a team in performance of end-to-end lifecycle planning, design, installation, maintenance, and support for distributed networks used by M&S and C4I applications, systems, and subsystems
  • Up to 25% travel required or as needed
Preferred Qualifications
  • Seven or more (7+) years of relevant work experience as a network engineer within a U.S. Government environment, DoD strongly preferred
  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or other related field
  • Active CCNA certification
  • Experience in a Network Operations Center (NOC) or Network Operations Security Center (NOSC) environment including help desk, customer communication, trouble ticketing, and issue resolution
  • Experience with network security architecture similar to the NETTN including Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE), Cisco Secure Firewall Management Center, Cisco Firepower NGFW firewalls, AAA, 802.1x, VPN deployments, STIG implementation and verification, Command Cyber Readiness Inspections (CCRI)
Clearance Requirements
  • Active Secret Security clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain an Active Top Secret/ SCI security clearance
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer
  • The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
