The Clinical Operations Specialist will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our healthcare facilities. This individual will be responsible for performing various clerical duties, including obtaining and processing information to identify and move patients through service departments. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and be able to maintain patient confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities
- Interviews patients and/or family members to obtain accurate financial and demographic information.
- Verifies patient insurance through the online eligibility system and determines which payer to enter in the account to minimize denials.
- Completes estimates of charges to determine patient liability for outpatient exams.
- Determines financial liability from the insurance response and collects any amount due from the patient.
- Scans all required documents and obtains signatures from patients.
- Completes forms required by governmental or commercial payers.
- Greets and assists patients, interacts with visitors, physician's office staff, physicians, and other employees while maintaining appropriate patient confidentiality.
- Provides wheelchair assistance to patients/visitors and transports as needed.
Requirements
- High School Graduate or Equivalent.
- Proven track record of excellent customer service skills.
- Able to navigate through computer systems (Microsoft Office, registration systems, EPIC).
- Good typing skills/data entry skills.
- Good interpersonal skills (work with the public).
- Maintain patient confidentiality.
