Position Overview: The role involves executing a range of nuclear fuel engineering responsibilities focused on reload core configuration, licensing evaluations, and in-core fuel oversight to enhance operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Execute reload core and bundle design, alongside licensing evaluations, ensuring the reliability and performance of nuclear fuel systems.

2. Coordinate engineering tasks supporting cycle reload projects, including in-house and vendor licensing evaluations, preparation of license amendments, and analyses related to startup physics. Collaborate within project teams and manage timelines to meet technical specifications.

3. Propose modifications to procedures, analytical methods, designs, or equipment as necessary. Engage in on-site support for fuel inspections and oversee manufacturing processes as required.

4. Utilize sound engineering principles to deliver accurate, timely, and cost-effective solutions.

5. Review and validate design outputs from contractors and other engineers, serving as a primary liaison with various internal and external stakeholders.

6. Foster effective teamwork, taking on roles as a leader, mentor, or collaborative team member.

7. Adhere to safety and industrial hygiene protocols during activities such as core verification and irradiated fuel inspections.

Communication: Articulate complex nuclear fuel topics clearly and effectively to all management levels, collaborating to identify issues and propose enhancements.

Participation: Engage in nuclear emergency response initiatives and refueling activities as assigned.

Qualifications:

Basic Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in Nuclear Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution.Entry-level candidates should have less than two years of relevant engineering experience.

Support Engineer Level:

Minimum of two years of related engineering experience.

Senior Engineer Level:

At least five years of relevant engineering experience.

Principal Engineer Level:

A minimum of ten years of engineering experience, with a deep understanding of regulatory standards and industry practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. A minimum of three years of experience in a foundational engineering role.

2. Experience with BWR core design is advantageous.

3. Proficiency in PC applications, with a preference for skills in Linux, scripting, and programming.

4. Familiarity with regulatory standards in nuclear fuel engineering is desirable.

5. A Master’s degree in Nuclear Engineering is preferred.

6. Strong communication skills, sound judgment, and leadership qualities are essential for resolving challenges.

7. Demonstrated initiative and problem-solving capabilities are crucial.
