- PALS certification is necessary for PICU, ER, and PACU roles.
- NRP certification is essential for NICU, Nursery, Antepartum, PostPartum, and Labor & Delivery departments.
- Chemo certification is required for Oncology nursing.
- TNCC certification is necessary for ER positions.
- EFM certification is required for Labor & Delivery, Mother-Baby/Post Partum, and Nursery units.
- Position Type: Long Term Care RN
- Start Date: ASAP, contingent upon compliance requirements.
- Patient Ratios: 8:1 during the day; 13:1 at night.
- Experience Required: Minimum of 2 years in Nursing home/LTC or Home Health preferred; travel experience is advantageous.
- Epic Experience: 1 year of Epic experience is preferred.
- Weekend Requirements: To be determined.
- RTO Restrictions: No specific holiday requirements, but if the traveler is present for multiple recognized holidays, one holiday shift may be requested.
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week.
- Common Diagnoses/Procedures: CVA, Dementia, RA, Afib, Hip fractures, Parkinson's, BKA, PNA, COPD, Huntington's disease.
- Equipment Used: Hoyer lift, SARA lift, tube feeding pump, IV pump.
- This unit operates as a Long Term Care facility but functions similarly to an LTAC or step-down unit to MedSurg. Trach patients, acute rehab, TPN, and Bi-PAP are not accepted. The medication system utilized is a Pyxis system for Work Stations on Wheels, and MedPacks are not in use. The charting process has been adapted from acute care EMR to accommodate LTC needs, which may be labor-intensive.
- 2 years of experience in Nursing home/LTC or Home Health preferred.
- 1 year of Epic experience is preferred.
- BLS certification is required.
- Skills in IV Insertion and PICC Lines are required.
- Open to accommodating block schedules: To be determined.
- Local candidates are not accepted.
- Pending licenses are accepted.
- Shift: 3x12 Night (7pm-7:30am).
- First-time travelers are accepted.
- Floating within scope to meet facility needs is rare.
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week.
- This is a Long Term Care unit functioning similarly to an LTAC or step-down unit to MedSurg.
- Must sign a verification release for Social Security.
- AHA, MTN, and Canadian AHA certifications are required for various roles.
- Time-sensitive Alaska Release of Information must be communicated to facility HR.
- Review COVID-19 Travel Policy and CDC travel guidelines prior to commencement.
