We are seeking a skilled Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT) to join our healthcare team at a correctional facility.
Job OverviewThis full-time position involves conducting psychiatric assessments, crisis intervention, medication administration, and therapeutic support to inmates with mental health disorders.
Key Responsibilities- Assessment and Intervention: Conduct initial assessments to identify psychiatric conditions, recommend treatment plans, and continuously observe inmates for signs of mental health crises or behavioral changes.
- Crisis Management: Use verbal and non-verbal communication skills to de-escalate tense situations, manage inmates who may be a threat to themselves or others, and diffuse conflicts.
- Medication Administration: Administer prescribed medications to inmates with mental health disorders, monitor for adverse reactions, and ensure compliance with prescribed regimens.
- Therapeutic Support: Assist in individual or group therapy sessions, reinforce therapeutic goals, and provide emotional support to inmates.
- Licensure: Current LPT licensure in good standing in the state where the position is located.
- Education: Graduation from an accredited educational institution.
- Experience: At least one year of relevant experience as a Licensed Psychiatric Technician.
- Competitive Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per year, based on location and experience.
