Offshore Fitter

The Offshore Fitter is responsible for performing various tasks related to iron fabrication, including steel structure assembly, quality control, and adherence to contract specifications.

• Study engineering drawings to determine material requirements and task sequences
• Read and interpret blueprints and specifications
• Perform mathematical calculations and measurements
• Locate and mark workpieces from drawings, checking for material thickness and specifications
• Straighten warped or bent parts using sledges and hand tools
• Follow fitting procedures and principles used in fabricating offshore structures
• Repair products by dismantling, straightening, and reassembling parts
• Lay out and install piping, equipment, and mechanical systems
• Inspect work sites for obstructions and verify conformance to specifications

• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen
• Valid TWIC card
• 2+ years experience in offshore fitting
• High school diploma or GED

80% to 90% of work activities are performed outdoors, with exposure to various environmental conditions, including temperature changes, humidity, and dust.
