Position Overview:

The MEP Superintendent is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects related to the construction initiation and commissioning of mechanical, electrical, and control systems, ensuring compliance with contract specifications and project timelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the bidding process for mechanical and electrical trades.
  • Oversee the Equipment Procurement process.
  • Create and manage the MEP critical path schedule.
  • Coordinate and monitor critical path construction and startup tasks.
  • Manage and track equipment deliveries.
  • Review and assess mechanical and electrical submittals.
  • Organize and facilitate project meetings focused on critical MEP activities.
  • Develop Method of Procedure (MOP) for critical tasks in live environments.
  • Collaborate with subcontractors and design teams to resolve MEP conflicts.
  • Ensure quality control processes are followed for MEP systems construction.
  • Oversee the startup and pretesting of mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Support third-party commissioning efforts.
  • Manage all commissioning documentation.
  • Foster strong relationships with clients.

Qualifications:

  • A four-year degree in construction, engineering, or business from an accredited institution is preferred.
  • Relevant work experience may substitute for formal education.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in Mechanical or Electrical System Construction.
  • At least 3 years of combined experience in Mission Critical Construction, Hospital Construction, MEP Project Management, or Mechanical and Electrical System Start-up and Commissioning.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong leadership abilities with a proven track record of team building.
  • Proficient in coordinating and scheduling MEP activities.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Self-motivated and proactive.
  • Proficient in utilizing computer and software technology in job functions.
  • Experience in Preconstruction and Equipment Procurement.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
