Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Phlebotomist to join our team at Actalent in Jackson Heights, NY. As a Phlebotomist, you will be responsible for collecting blood samples from patients and preparing them for laboratory testing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect blood samples from patients using straight needles and butterfly needles
  • Label and centrifuge specimens, and record maintenance data
  • Update patient information and match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes
  • Package specimens for transport and store them at required temperatures
  • Verify test requisitions or computer labels against scripts to ensure 100% accuracy
Requirements
  • 2+ years of recent phlebotomy experience
  • Proficient with straight needles and comfortable performing venipunctures independently from day one
  • Reliable, punctual, and strong communication skills
  • Bilingual Spanish is preferred but not required
Work Environment

This is a fully on-site position in Jackson Heights, New York. You will be working in a busy Patient Service Center (PSC) seeing 30-50 patients daily.

Monday-Friday 8am-4pm, Every Other Saturday 8am-3pm.
