Summary of Responsibilities:
The Department of Mechanical Engineering at Iowa State University is seeking applications for a full-time, non-tenure track academic position at the rank of assistant, associate, or full professor.
Successful candidates will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in various mechanical engineering subjects, including both theoretical and practical components. This role includes teaching undergraduate courses, engaging in curriculum development, and fulfilling additional duties that support the educational mission of the university, such as participating in committees and mentoring students.
Experience in mechanical design and manufacturing methodologies is highly valued.
The Mechanical Engineering Department is dedicated to fostering a collaborative and supportive environment for all faculty and staff.
All faculty members are expected to demonstrate professionalism and integrity in their interactions within the department and the broader university community.
Minimum Qualifications:
Assistant Professor:
Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field with 5 years of relevant professional experience OR
Master's degree in engineering or a related field with 3 years of relevant professional experience OR
Doctoral degree in engineering or a related field.
Associate Professor:
Demonstrated teaching experience and one of the following:
Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field with 10 years of relevant professional experience OR
Master's degree in engineering or a related field with 8 years of relevant professional experience.
Full Professor:
Demonstrated teaching experience and one of the following:
Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field with 15 years of relevant professional experience OR
Master's degree in engineering or a related field with 13 years of relevant professional experience OR
Doctoral degree in engineering or a related field with 10 years of relevant professional experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in mechanical design and manufacturing processes.
Experience teaching engineering courses at the university level.
