About the Law Firm

This full-service legal practice comprises 15 specialized practice groups and boasts a team of over 150 attorneys. The firm operates across various sectors, serving local, national, and international clients.

Role Responsibilities

The Estate Planning Legal Assistant will provide essential support to four Probate and Trust/Estate Attorneys within a bustling estate planning and probate department. Key responsibilities include:

  • Drafting and preparing legal documents such as wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and other estate planning materials.
  • Delivering administrative and clerical support to assigned attorneys.
  • Composing letters, memos, pleadings, and other necessary documentation.
  • Filing pleadings with the appropriate court systems, both electronically and otherwise.
  • Coordinating travel arrangements and preparing expense reimbursement documentation.
  • Providing necessary documentation to clients, opposing counsel, and other relevant parties.
  • Entering information into the system for conflict checks and new client setups, along with preparing supporting documents.
  • Maintaining an organized filing system for both physical and electronic files, utilizing electronic file-sharing systems.
  • Answering incoming calls for assigned attorneys as needed.
  • Recording attorney time and performing additional tasks as assigned.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as an Estate Planning Legal Assistant.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • The ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong independent work ethic as well as the ability to collaborate within a team.
  • Typing skills of 65+ words per minute.
  • A keen attention to detail and excellent proofreading abilities.
  • Outstanding communication skills.
