About the Role:As a Correctional Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of our facilities, staff, and the public. You will be responsible for enforcing rules and regulations, maintaining order, and providing support to inmates and staff. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Responsibilities:- Enforce rules and regulations, and maintain order and security within the facility
- Provide support to inmates and staff, including answering questions and resolving conflicts
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge
- Collaborate with other departments and agencies to achieve common goals and objectives
- Perform other duties as assigned
- At least 20 years of age at the time of application and 21 years of age at the time of appointment to the Academy
- Possession of a high school diploma, GED or equivalent from a U.S. institution or a California High School Proficiency Examination (CHSPE) certificate
- United States citizenship or legal permanent resident
- No felony convictions and eligible to own/possess a firearm
