COMPENSATION INFORMATION:

Job Overview:

The role involves executing daily delivery routes with multiple stops, necessitating the loading of goods onto hand trucks and unloading products at each designated location. The selected candidate will effectively operate within a cross-dock framework, collecting a fully loaded vehicle from a nightly delivery and returning the empty vehicle to the designated lot after completing the route. There may be occasional requirements to assist with loading trucks, palletizing products, and performing additional tasks as directed by a Supervisor or Manager.


Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional customer service and manage relationships for key programs and projects.
  • Efficiently navigate routes, consistently meeting or surpassing established timeframes.
  • Unload products from the trailer, either manually or using a hand cart, and place them in specified customer storage areas, which may involve transporting items down ramps, stairs, or docks in varying weather conditions.
  • Regularly lift, push, or move products weighing between 1-75 pounds, occasionally up to 100 pounds; frequently reach up to 72 inches to stack and unstack pallets and hand carts; and consistently bend and twist while loading and unloading products.
  • Confirm delivery of items with customers and secure appropriate signatures. Notify management for authorization in case of discrepancies on invoices and communicate all errors or returns.
  • Report instances when a customer does not receive their complete order.
  • Address customer complaints in a professional manner.
  • Properly handle company equipment, adhere to written driver safety protocols, and conduct pre-trip inspections. Execute pre-trip and post-trip responsibilities in compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and Sysco policies.


Qualifications

Education

  • Degrees/Certificates Minimum Required:
  • High School diploma or GED or equivalent.


Experience

  • Minimum one year of route delivery experience or relevant background operating a straight truck.
  • Possession of a valid Commercial Driver's License – Class B (Class A preferred).
  • Ability to read and comprehend English.

Skills

  • Ability to operate a vehicle under various traffic and weather conditions.
  • Meet or exceed productivity benchmarks set by the company.
  • Achieve established accuracy goals.
  • Exhibit strong customer service and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Effectively plan and organize work activities independently.

Additional Information

  • Frequent lifting of products up to 50 lbs. during the shift, with occasional lifting up to 80 lbs.
