Job Overview:

The State of California invites applications for the role of Staff Services Manager I, a key position within our administrative services team. As a Staff Services Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our office, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively. You will work closely with our Executive Director and other senior leaders to develop and implement strategies that drive organizational success.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee administrative programs, including public meeting management, human resources, procurement, records management, communications, fiscal services, facilities, and office support services.
  • Supervise and manage administrative staff, providing coaching and development opportunities to ensure high levels of performance and job satisfaction.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with Federal, State, and Agency regulations.
  • Collaborate with other departments to identify areas for improvement and implement process enhancements.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in administrative management, preferably in a government agency or similar setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound decisions.
