Qualifications

  • Educational Requirement: High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)

Primary Objective of the Position

The Pharmacy Technician is responsible for compounding and dispensing medications and other pharmaceutical products, maintaining accurate records related to prescriptions, patient billing, and inventory management, and providing necessary information to healthcare staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate under the direct oversight of a licensed pharmacist
  • Adhere to the policies and procedures of the facility and pharmacy
  • Process and fulfill medication orders, assist with daily inventory management, restock intravenous fluids, prepare IV solutions, conduct medication inspections, manage pharmacy billing, and maintain precise medication profiles

Cognitive and Emotional Skills

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, make informed decisions under pressure, effectively handle stress, work independently as well as collaboratively, manage emotional responses, and function in environments with distractions
