Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Audiologist to join our team at Arkansas Children's Hospital. As a Pediatric Audiologist, you will be responsible for providing a wide range of audiological services to patients from birth to 21 and approved adult patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform audiological evaluations and screenings
- Demonstrate knowledge of departmental policies, procedures, and specific protocols regarding patient care
- Review medical records and interview parent/caregiver to obtain pertinent health information and relevant patient histories prior to each evaluation
- Implement a plan of action with appropriate recommendations and counsel/educate every patient and family utilizing appropriate language and including relative educational materials
- Maintain technical competency with all clinical equipment, including diagnostic, screening and computer-assisted applications
- Determine options regarding traditional amplification, cochlear implants, bone-anchored implants, FM technology, etc. and provide information and education to family/patient in order to navigate the decision-making process
- Pre-select appropriate device(s) and ear molds based on audiometric configuration, patients listening environment and level of functioning
- Counsel patient/family regarding the adjustment process, device care/maintenance, appropriate expectations, needed follow-up protocol and provide written/visual materials to support
- Generate appropriate documentation for recordkeeping, reporting and referrals in the electronic medical record and required databases
