Ambulatory Pharmacy Manager Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Ambulatory Pharmacy Manager to lead our outpatient pharmacy services at Tift Regional Health System. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing daily operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and overseeing a team of pharmacists and technicians.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Management: Hire, orient, manage, mentor, coach, and conduct performance appraisals for direct reports, including pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and other support staff.
  • Compliance and Regulatory Affairs: Ensure compliance with state and federal laws, regulations, and Joint Commission standards, as well as System Policies and Procedures.
  • Quality Improvement: Develop and maintain specific metrics to document the quality of pharmacy services in the outpatient setting.
  • Program Development: Collaborate with pharmacy and executive leadership to develop and implement new programs and initiatives.
  • Customer Service: Ensure excellent customer service to patients and customers utilizing outpatient pharmacy services.
  • Financial Management: Effectively manage approved budget to ensure compliance with established productivity metrics.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy (BS Pharm) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) required; Master's degree or completion of PGY1 Pharmacy Residency in Ambulatory Care preferred.
  • Credentials: Pharmacist licensure in good standing from the Georgia Board of Pharmacy required.
  • Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of pharmacy practice experience in health system pharmacy (ambulatory and/or acute care setting) required; minimum of three (3) years of progressive health system pharmacy leadership or PGY2 Health System Pharmacy Administration and Leadership (HSPAL) Residency required.
