We are seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our team at Summers Healthcare Center. As a COTA, you will play a vital role in helping patients improve their quality of life by providing supportive therapy services.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing treatment plans, collaborating with Occupational Therapists, and educating staff on treatment procedures. Additionally, they will maintain accurate billing information, attend interdisciplinary meetings, and participate in continuing education programs.

About the Role

This is a PRN position available for a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) at Summers Healthcare Center. Our therapists are in-house and members of the CommuniCare family. This is an exciting opportunity to make a direct impact through therapy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Verify client information by interviewing clients; reviewing and/or recording medical history; confirming purpose of treatment
  • Implement treatment plan through direct treatment and collaboration with Occupational Therapist, education of treatment staff
  • Maintain professional growth and development, by participating in continuing education programs, and other approved learning experiences
  • Maintain confidentiality of all medical record, facility and rehab related information
  • Maintain accurate billing information in accordance with facility procedures daily
Requirements
  • Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) education, obtained in an accredited two-year associate degree program
  • Agree to abide by the NBCOT Practice Standards/Code of Conduct Attain a passing score on the NBCOT certification exam
  • Attain a passing score on the national licensure examination
  • Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant License (Required)
  • Competency in therapy treatment principles, techniques, materials and equipment utilization
  • Knowledge of state and federal accreditation
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Good organizational skills

Estimated Salary Range:

$45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
