Shift: Night Shift - 7:30 PM to 6:00 AM

Status: Opportunities for Full-Time, Part-Time, or Per Diem positions available.

Position Overview: Responsible for conducting outpatient assessments for sleep disorders. This includes the preparation and testing of patients to ensure accurate results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and calibrate necessary equipment to ensure optimal performance and accurate readings.
  • Apply specialized monitoring devices and prepare positive airway pressure (PAP) masks for patient use.
  • Document baseline metrics including body position, movements, oxygen saturation, and vital signs.
  • Assist in analyzing sleep/wake cycles and compile detailed reports on clinical events such as respiratory and cardiac occurrences.
  • Implement safety measures and therapeutic interventions, including CPAP and BIPAP therapy, as well as oxygen administration.
  • Support various testing procedures, including titrations and sleep latency assessments.
  • Conduct data acquisition while ensuring the quality of the study recordings and addressing any artifacts.
  • Verify the integrity of collected data and guide patients through necessary questionnaires.
  • Maintain monitoring equipment in optimal condition, addressing minor repairs and reporting major issues as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with patients regarding the testing process, addressing their inquiries and educating them on sleep medicine.
  • Demonstrate the ability to provide age-appropriate care and understand the developmental needs of patients.

Required Certifications:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an accredited organization.
  • Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) registration or equivalent within a specified timeframe.

Educational Background:

  • Completion of an accredited training program beyond high school.

Experience:

  • No prior experience is necessary.

Essential Skills:

  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic proficiency in computer operations.

Physical Demands:

  • May require travel between locations, exposing the individual to various road conditions.
  • Must be capable of performing physical tasks such as lifting, standing, and walking throughout the workday.
  • Ability to lift and carry specified weights as needed for patient care.
  • Exposure to mechanical and electrical hazards; appropriate safety gear must be utilized.
