Position Overview:

As a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) under the guidance of licensed nursing staff, you will deliver patient-centered care tailored to meet both physical and emotional needs. Collaborating with the care team, you will contribute to achieving optimal patient outcomes while adhering to ThedaCare's high standards of quality care. Your role will involve providing compassionate, safe care and demonstrating a commitment to ongoing professional development.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Execute delegated patient care tasks utilizing evidence-based practices tailored to the specific patient demographic.
2. Collaborate with the care team to fulfill patient care requirements, ensuring safe and cost-effective practices.
3. Exhibit clinical proficiency in the assigned specialty, performing all CNA functions that are appropriate for the patient's age and cultural background.
4. Address patient concerns respectfully to ensure their needs are met.
5. Seek opportunities to enhance the patient experience, streamline care processes, and improve satisfaction for patients, families, and team members.
6. Identify and report patient risks to avert potential crises.
7. Foster professional relationships with patients, families, colleagues, and healthcare providers.
8. Reinforce patient education to enhance care outcomes and ensure safe practices.
9. Document and perform patient care tasks, including hygiene, mobility assistance, daily living activities, and vital signs, while maintaining a safe care environment.
10. Provide comprehensive patient care, including specimen collection and medication administration as per nursing protocols and physician directives, within the CNA's scope of practice.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Certified Nursing Assistant certification in the state.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification for healthcare providers.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Exposure to bloodborne pathogens during job duties.
  • Manual dexterity and coordination for patient care tasks.

Work Environment:
  • Frequent exposure to sharp instruments and potential hazards.
  • Occasional exposure to mechanical parts, chemicals, and communicable diseases.
  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods and assist in patient transfers.
