The Town of Simsbury, CT is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Building Official to join our team. As a key member of our Building Department, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with building codes and regulations, providing exceptional customer service, and contributing to the efficient operation of our department.
Key Responsibilities- Review and approve construction plans and specifications to ensure compliance with building codes and regulations.
- Perform inspections to verify compliance with building codes and regulations.
- Provide technical guidance and support to contractors, property owners, and the general public.
- Collaborate with other Town departments and agencies to ensure effective communication and coordination.
- Assist in the development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures.
- Associate's degree in a technical field involving construction or related practices, or equivalent experience.
- State of Connecticut Building Officials License.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
