Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Assistant Certified to join our team at Northern Arizona Healthcare Corporation. As a Medical Assistant Certified, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments
  • Conduct initial and ongoing assessments of patients, documenting medical history and identifying needs for referrals and prescription renewals
  • Coordinate clerical information to provide patient care, including arranging referrals, scheduling appointments, and communicating with patients and providers
  • Perform venipuncture, capillary punctures, and administer injections under the supervision of a provider
  • Process test results and provide patients with timely results via email, mail, or phone as directed by the physician or allied health professional
  • Conduct designated point-of-care testing, including electrocardiograms and throat cultures
  • Assess living environments and subjective symptoms to identify patient needs and report to providers as necessary
  • Support and reinforce provider care plans and education
  • Collaborate with care management teams and community agencies to support patient care
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Medical Assistant Diploma from an accredited program or college
  • Valid and active Medical Assistant Certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), American Medical Technologists (AMT), National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), or National Health Care Association (NHA)
  • BLS (American Heart Association) certification within 90 days of hire
  • Fingerprint Clearance Card application number and clearance within 90 days of hire
  • One year of related job experience preferred
