Job Title: Assistant Professor of Art and Architectural History

Job Summary: The Department of Art and Architectural History at the College of Charleston invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position in Asian Art and Architecture. We seek an enthusiastic teacher-scholar to contribute to our dynamic department housing two distinct undergraduate degree programs: Art & Architectural History and Historic Preservation & Community Planning.

Responsibilities:

Teaching responsibilities include the Asian survey course every semester, intermediate courses on the Art of India, Art of Japan, and Art of China, and upper-level courses specific to the candidate's area of interest. An earned PhD in art history, architectural history, or any related discipline is required. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to working closely with undergraduate students, maintaining an active research agenda, and partnering with colleagues in the Asian Studies Program.
