Ultrasound Technologist Job Description

Mount Sinai Medical Center of Florida is seeking a skilled Ultrasound Technologist to join our team. As a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the advancement of medical imaging technology.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare exam rooms and ultrasound equipment to conduct sonography examinations, adhering to infection control and patient safety protocols.
  • Review patient medical history and supporting clinical information to verify physician orders prior to examination.
  • Ensure sonography examination orders are complete, contain relevant information, and meet medical necessity standards.
  • Inspect images for quality and monitor patient information prior to interpretation by radiologists.
  • Assist with training new technologists, technical assistants, and physician residents in all phases of assigned procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and demonstrate independent judgment during sonography examinations.
  • Adjust to variable schedules and procedure techniques as required.
  • Report equipment malfunctions and maintain exam rooms with proper supplies.
  • Provide preliminary reports and document patient exam delays in EPIC "Tech Notes".
  • Complete exam data entry and necessary paperwork associated with each case.
Requirements:
  • American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) certification.
  • Graduate of an AMA Accredited Educational Program for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers or equivalent.
  • One to three years of clinical ultrasound experience.
  • Minimum ARDMS Registry certification to include Abdomen or OB/GYN, with other certification completed within six months.
