Job Title: Detention Officer

Job Summary

As a Detention Officer, you will be responsible for supervising and caring for juveniles, maintaining order and discipline, and ensuring the smooth operation of the detention center.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and care for juveniles, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being
  • Maintain order and discipline within the detention center, enforcing established rules and regulations
  • Conduct searches of detainees and facility, reporting any unusual occurrences or safety hazards to superiors
  • Escort juveniles to classes, recreation, and other activities, maintaining a professional and respectful demeanor
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge
  • Collaborate with colleagues and supervisors to ensure the effective operation of the detention center
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Valid driver's license and ability to drive a vehicle
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, with strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
  • Ability to work a varied schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
