Key Responsibilities:

  • Consultative assessment and development of plans for wound treatment based on NPIAP guidelines and hospital wound care policy.

  • Provide advanced wound care treatment, including mist therapy, wound vac initiation and maintenance, and sharp debridement when appropriate.

  • Develop and coordinate hospital care for new and existing ostomy patients.

  • Establish standards of care and clinical competencies to meet patient needs and provide training to ensure clinical expertise.

  • Collaborate with bedside nursing staff and medical staff to deliver appropriate care and competency to patients with wounds and ostomies.

  • Provide education regarding wounds, wound care, and treatment, wound prevention, and ostomy care to staff, patients, caregivers, and other providers as needed.

  • Participate in fulfilling the mission of the hospital.
