Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech and Language Pathologist to join our team at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to our mission of advancing human ability.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate patient speech, language, and swallowing abilities to develop and implement effective treatment plans.
  • Establish and maintain patient treatment goals, monitoring progress and making adjustments as needed.
  • Collaborate with physicians, audiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Counsel patients and families on communication deficits and provide education on proper management techniques.
  • Conduct regular patient assessments and maintain accurate clinical records.

Requirements:

  • Master's or doctoral degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
  • Current Illinois license as a Speech-Language Pathologist or Temporary license if in Clinical Fellowship Year.
  • CPR certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Clinical Specialty Recognition by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association or certification in neurological communication disorders by the Academy of Neurological Communication Disorders and Sciences.
  • Experience working with patients with neurological communication disorders.
