About the Role:
We are in search of a seasoned and proactive Senior Tax Manager to enhance our global tax operations.

This role is crucial for ensuring the precise and timely calculation and reporting of all tax-related financial data, adhering to SEC, ASC 740, and other regulatory frameworks.

The Senior Tax Manager will play a vital role in scaling Confluent's global tax compliance and operations.

The ideal candidate is a knowledgeable tax professional with a minimum of 7 years of experience in large multinational publicly traded companies (Big 4 experience is preferred), exceptional interpersonal skills, and the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all organizational levels.

Experience at a Big 4 firm and/or in an enterprise software setting is advantageous.
This position is eligible for remote work and will report directly to the VP of Tax.

What You Will Do:


Oversee the quarterly and annual income tax provision process in line with ASC 740, including UTP documentation, and related tax disclosures in the Company's SEC filings.

Manage the compliance function for the Company, including the consolidated US federal income tax return, US international, and state and local tax returns.

Collaborate cross-functionally with Accounting, FP&A, and Treasury on all tax-related issues and financial reporting.
Assist in managing indirect taxes, such as sales and use tax, VAT/GST, and other transaction-based taxes.
Work with external auditors to ensure compliant income tax reporting and efficient financial statement close and SOX control processes.
Participate in special projects, including tax planning, mergers and acquisitions, provision, forecasting, corporate initiatives, and identifying process efficiencies.

What You Will Bring:
7 years of experience in tax operations, with a background in Big 4 and publicly held multinational companies preferred.
A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and a professional designation, such as CPA or MST.
Experience in an enterprise software or SaaS environment is a plus.
Comprehensive knowledge of corporate tax operations, standards, and governance.
In-depth understanding of ASC 740 and other relevant accounting standards.

Strong interpersonal and relationship-building capabilities with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.

Proven ability to research complex tax issues and propose effective solutions.
Strategic thinker with robust leadership skills and the capacity to prioritize multiple projects in a dynamic, high-growth environment.
