Key Position Details
  • 0.75 FTE (60 hours every two weeks)
  • 12-hour, Night shifts
  • Every 3rd weekend rotation
  • SEIU Union-represented position
Job Description

As a Nursing Assistant in our Float Pool, you will work under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse to deliver high-quality patient care. Your responsibilities will include:

Personal Care and Interventions
  • Perform personal care tasks such as feeding, bathing, dressing, grooming, and transferring patients
  • Collect and document vital signs and other observations of patients
Assisting Patients and Staff
  • Answer patient call lights promptly and assist with patient needs
  • Distribute and set up water, snacks, and patient trays
  • Assist patients with grooming and hygiene needs, maintaining skin integrity and personal comfort
Observation and Documentation
  • Collect and document health status data as assigned
  • Report observations and health status data that are not within normal limits to the RN
Contribution to a Safe Environment
  • Contribute to an environment that is safe for patients, visitors, and staff
  • Protect patients, self, and others from injury during transfers, lifts, and transports
Required Qualifications
  • Meet one of the following requirements: 18 years of age, 17 years of age with high school diploma or GED
  • Successful completion of Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program, completion of one semester of clinical rotations within an accredited nursing program, or completion of the Allina Health Nursing Assistant Academy Program
  • Previous direct patient care experience
Licenses/Certifications
  • Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or Allina in-house BLS training within 30 days of hire
