Position: Avionics Systems Specialist - 2nd Shift

Compensation: $93,000 - $108,000

The Avionics Systems Specialist is responsible for executing technical planning, system integration, verification, and validation processes, alongside conducting cost and risk assessments to ensure the effectiveness and supportability of comprehensive systems.

This role encompasses analysis at all stages of the total system product lifecycle, including:

  • Conceptualization
  • Design
  • Fabrication
  • Testing
  • Installation
  • Operation
  • Maintenance
  • Disposal

The selected candidate will ensure a logical and systematic transformation of customer or product requirements into comprehensive systems solutions, taking into account technical, scheduling, and financial constraints.

Key responsibilities include performing functional analysis, timeline assessments, detailed trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition studies to convert customer specifications into hardware and software requirements.

The role will involve integration and testing of F-35 modernization products utilizing system-level hardware-in-the-loop integration laboratories. Responsibilities will include:

  • Loading software
  • Integrating hardware with software
  • Applying software patches
  • Conducting system security and performance evaluations
  • Executing system regression tests
  • Authoring after-action reports and system problem reports

The Simulation and System Test team for 5th Generation Platforms SI&T will focus on mission system capability integration, verification, validation, and regression testing for F-35 modernization initiatives. Testing will primarily occur at the system level within hardware-in-the-loop environments.


Essential Qualifications:
  • Experience in aircraft mission systems or avionics integration.
  • Ability to work independently after initial training.
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field; Engineering or Computer Science preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Current F-35 Special Access Program clearance(s).
  • Experience with software loading on avionics hardware.
  • Knowledge of implementing software patches.
  • Familiarity with Mission Systems Integration Labs.
  • Experience collaborating with LM Aero F-22/F-35 engineering teams.
  • Experience in mission planning environments.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
