Job Summary

This position will be one of several bus drivers to support Hagerstown Community College activities. The position will cover mainly afternoons and evenings on weekdays, with some occasional weekend days. The number of hours per week will vary according to the needs of the College. Tuesday-Friday hours are in most demand.

Key Responsibilities

Safely operate a 45 passenger bus on public and private roads.
Perform pre-trip and post-trip safety inspections.
Refuel bus.
Monitor loading, unloading, and transportation of passengers and cargo to ensure it is done in a safe manner.
Understand, implement, and adhere to Hagerstown Community College temporary employee handbook policies and applicable state and federal regulations.
Coordinate the details of the assigned trip, from dispatch to departure, with group leader or coach.

Requirements

Must have a clean driving record.
Must have valid class "B" CDL with "P" endorsement.
Must have a current DOT physical.
Previous bus driver experience requested-3 years or more preferred.
Experience driving a public school bus preferred.
Must have basic knowledge of passenger carrying regulations.

Working Environment

Must be able to bend, reach, and lift approximately 5-10 pounds.
Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.
