Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Clinical Resource Unit (Float Pool) team at Carle Health. As a Float Pool RN, you will have the opportunity to work in various inpatient units, including Medical-Oncology, Surgical-Orthopedic, Cardiovascular Care Unit, Progressive Care Unit, Mental Health Unit, and Acute Rehab.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct nursing care to patients with acute and chronic conditions, including cardiac and pulmonary patients.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Conduct and document assessments, nursing diagnoses, plans, and evaluations.
  • Float to various units to meet staffing needs and provide support to colleagues.
  • Participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives and contribute to a culture of excellence.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of current evidence-based practices and technologies.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care transitions.
Requirements
  • Current RN licensure in Illinois.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 1 year of hire.
  • Minimum of 1 year of inpatient nursing experience.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
