Job Title: Transmission Line Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Transmission Line Engineer to join our team at RCM Energy Services. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing electric utility substations and lines, including supervision and checking of junior engineers and designers.

Responsibilities:
  • Detail engineering and support of transmission and distribution line projects from conceptual design through construction
  • Utilize various client information systems to retrieve information and deliver design packages
  • Coordinate design and engineering activities with other disciplines such as Electrical, Civil, Structural, Mechanical, and others
  • Travel to client sites in the United States as needed to perform job functions such as acquiring field data necessary to prepare the appropriate design
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering (BSCE) or Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from an ABET accredited college or university
  • 4 or more years of experience in the design of overhead High Voltage and Extra High Voltage transmission lines
  • Working knowledge of industry standards regarding transmission lines from ASCE, Cigre, IEC, and IEEE, NESC and GO-95
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software products and PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, MFAD/HFAD
  • Strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills necessary to interact with clients, equipment vendors, and construction contractors
Preferred:
  • Strong understanding of statics, dynamics, and mechanics of materials
  • Completed Model Law NCEES record
  • Inter-disciplinary engineering experience
  • Construction Support and field support services experience
