Job Description

As a Route Supervisor with Rumpke Waste and Recycling, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of waste management services to our customers.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled individual to supervise a team of drivers and oversee the daily operations of our routes. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the performance of their team, providing training and coaching, and monitoring quality and safety standards.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and leadership skills, as well as the ability to work independently and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Manage Daily Activities: Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of route drivers, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Train and Develop Employees: Provide ongoing training and coaching to employees to improve their performance and develop their skills.
  • Maintain Quality and Safety Standards: Monitor and enforce quality and safety standards, ensuring that all compliance goals are met or exceeded.
  • Roadside Support: Assist drivers on the road as needed, including running routes in the absence of other drivers.
  • Administrative Tasks: Perform administrative tasks such as tracking employee attendance, conducting vehicle inspections, and maintaining records.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: 2+ years of experience in a supervisory or leadership role, preferably in a waste management or transportation industry.
  • Certifications/Licenses: Valid Class B CDL, DOT Medical Card, and knowledge of DOT/OSHA regulations.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and leadership skills, ability to work independently, and strong problem-solving skills.
What We Offer

Competitive salary range: $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience.
