Position Overview

Harbor, Inc. is looking for a Residential Support Specialist to join our women's residential substance use treatment program. This role involves providing essential care to residents, supervising daily activities, and ensuring accurate clinical documentation.

This is a part-time position, requiring 32 hours per week on the first shift, from 6:45 AM to 3:15 PM, with some weekend and holiday availability necessary.

Qualifications:

  • A High School Diploma or GED is mandatory. Preference will be given to candidates with a Medical Assistant Certification or a Bachelor’s degree in a human services field.
  • Experience in behavioral health services or relevant training is preferred.
  • Licensure in Chemical Dependency, Counseling, or Social Work is advantageous.
  • Candidates must be at least 23 years old, possess a valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record, and be insurable through Harbor's vehicle insurance for first and second shift roles. Driving is not required for third shift employees. Compliance with annual Defensive Driving training for 15-Passenger Vans is necessary.
  • CPR/First Aid and NCI/CPI Certifications are required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in overseeing and maintaining residents' daily household tasks, schedules, and activities, including counseling sessions and social skills development.
  • Be familiar with each resident's individualized care plan and provide appropriate support as outlined. Contribute valuable insights to the clinical team regarding residents' needs and preferences.
  • Facilitate client participation in 12-step programs through both in-house and community meetings.
  • Maintain thorough, accurate, and timely clinical records.
  • Adhere to safety and infection control protocols, including proper hand hygiene and disposal of hazardous materials.
  • Transport clients to various appointments and social events.
  • Ensure the completion of all assigned tasks related to resident care and facility maintenance.
  • Engage in ongoing training and development to enhance personal skills and professional network.
  • Fulfill household duties and work orders as specified for each shift.
